Like Tests and ODIs, a batsman does not have time in T20. In the shortest format of cricket, a batsman has to score runs with the first ball and only then he can benefit his team.
T20 batsmen have crossed the 1,000-run mark so far, but we are taking a look at the fastest batsmen who have completed 1,000 T20 runs.
England’s offensive opener Alex Hales has scored 1644 runs in 60 T20 matches at an average of 31.02. Hales has one century and eight half-centuries in T20Is.
Hales had played 32 innings to complete 1,000 runs in T20 cricket. Hales hit a century against Sri Lanka in 2014.
Former England veteran batsman Kevin Pietersen is at number four in this list. Peterson was an excellent stroke player and he used his shots with great ease. Pietersen scored 1176 runs in 37 matches at an average of 37.94 for England, including seven half-centuries.
Peterson also played 32 innings to complete 1,000 runs in T20 cricket. Pietersen played a key role in England winning the 2010 T20 World Cup, scoring three fifties and scoring a total of 248 runs in the tournament at an average of 62.
Australia’s aggressive batsman Aaron Finch has scored 1671 runs in 52 matches at an average of 37.13. Finch has scored nine half-centuries and two hundred in T20s.
Finch, who scored 172 runs against Zimbabwe last year, holds the record for the highest score in T20s. Finch played 29 innings to complete 1,000 runs in T20.
Virat Kohli, the star batsman of the Indian team and who has scored the most 2450 runs in T20, is second in this list.
Kohli has scored 22 half-centuries in T20s and averages 50. Kohli has completed 1,000 runs in T20 in 27 innings.
Pakistan’s great batsman Babar Azam has secured the first position in this list. Babar has scored 1263 runs in 32 matches for Pakistan and his average is 50.52.
The right-handed batsman has completed his 1,000 runs in T20 cricket in just 26 innings.
