For the 12th season of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals has appointed Paddy Upton as its coach. He has already been the coach of Rajasthan.
Paddy Upton was Chief Coach of Rajasthan Royals from 2013 to 2015. After that two seasons in 2016 and 2017, he was in the support staff of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).
As well as Upton has been associated with teams of several T20 tournaments held in the world. Even he has helped the team of Big Bash League Sydney Thunder wins the title.
He has also been part of the Gary Kirsten’s staff in the 2011 World Cup winning Indian team. He has also given coaching to teams in PSL as well as handing over the position of the South African team’s performance director.
Upon joining the Rajasthan Royals team, Cricket Board President Zubin Bharucha says that the kind of experience and information he provides to the team is unique.
Being a coach, a guide and a scientific trainer, Upton is well-acquainted with the modern game. We are feeling very thrilled to find him again in the team and want to be ready for the new season as soon as possible.
At the same time, Manoj Badale, chief of the team, says that we are very happy to tell us that Upton is joining us once again. We welcome them.
Uptan is familiar with the tradition of Rajasthan Royals and he knows what to do to win an international tournament. We are eagerly waiting for the new season and are very happy to know that the IPL will be held in India only.
In addition to Paddy Upton, fast bowling coach Stephen Johns, Amol Majumdar, batting coach and spin bowling coach, Sarraj Bahule are also part of the coaching staff of Rajasthan Royals.
