ICC Test Rankings: Kevin O’Brien and Tim Murtagh at Top 100, Azhar Ali out of the list of top 10 batsmen

Following the historic Test between Ireland and Pakistan, the ICC has released the latest rankings. Significantly, this was Ireland’s first Test and despite the defeat, they made a tough fight against Pakistan. Man of the match Kevin O’Brien, who scored the first Test century by Ireland in the rankings for batsmen after the match, has made his place in the top 100 in the rankings for batsmen and Tim Murtagh, who took 6 wickets in the rankings.

Kevin O’Brien played 40 and 118 runs in the match and he has captured 66th place in the batting rankings. In the rankings for batsmen, Steve Smith is the first, Virat Kohli second and Joe Root remain third, and only one change has happened in the top 10. Pakistan’s Azhar Ali has moved up two places to 12th position and Hashim Amla has replaced him in 10th place.

Fahim Ashraf, who played the first match from Pakistan, scored a significant 83 runs in the first innings and took 81 places in the rankings. Yasir Shah from Pakistan is 17th, Mohammad Abbas 29th, Mohammed Amir 37th, Rahit Ali 39th, Harris Sohail 81st and Shadab Khan /are 104th in the list.
