Tom Brady is in a happy mood after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates clinched the NFC South and a playoff spot.
The star quarterback won the 19th division title of his career after being instrumental in the Bucs’ 30-24 comeback win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The victory was the perfect way to start 2023 after Brady had a rough year on and off the field.
Tom Brady joked that he wants to still play in the NFL to face his unborn grandchildren
Brady joined Jim Gray on his weekly Monday podcast and joked that he might still be playing in the NFL when his future grandchildren take the field.
“Maybe one day you can sit down and tell your grandchildren about this epic career you had,” Gray said in SiriusXM podcast Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.
Brady, laughing, replied: ‘One day. One day when I have grandchildren. I hope that’s a long time from now, but, yeah, maybe it’s just me, maybe I’ll face one of them at some point in the playoffs. That is also possible.’

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has expressed his desire to play in the NBA with 18-year-old son Bronny.
Gray continued: ‘Now you’ve set it there a bit more, haven’t you?’
Brady replied: ‘We’ll see. As my friend says, the future happens every day. So that’s where I am now. I’m in jail. It’s playoff time. Let’s go.’
Brady shared Jack, 15, who joined the Bucs for practice, along with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. He also has a daughter, Vivian Lake, nine, and son Benjamin Rein, 12, with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, who he split from in October after 13 years of marriage.
The 45-year-old also poked fun at her tablet-throwing antics – she threw a tablet on the ground in September – and said she’ll break less glass this year when asked about her New Year’s resolutions.
‘A lot of it is very personal, obviously. I have given up sacks this year so I’m tired of sacks. Like I said I’m tired of throwing interceptions. I’m gonna give those up for at least January and hopefully in February,’ he said.
‘I’m a little stretchy. I’m pretty flexible up to this point, save a few minutes a day there. Many tablets won’t break me. That’s pretty obvious. And then I’ll just stay healthy and mentally sharp.’
