Sebastian Haller has revealed his incredible return to training with Borussia Dortmund – just six months after being diagnosed with a testicular tumour.
The forward received the heartbreaking news in July, shortly after joining the German club for £29million on a four-year deal and requiring chemotherapy to treat cancer – and the 28-year-old later had two surgeries as part of his treatment.
Now he has sent a message to supporters on social media to thank them for all their support during his difficult time and revealed that he has returned to the club’s training centre, where he will prepare to make his late debut in coming weeks.

‘Hello guys, I’m finally back,’ the ex-West Ham striker said in a clip on Twitter.
‘It’s not that easy but with your support it’s better and easier to do. I just hope to see you in the stadium for some victories.’
The German giants played their first game since the World Cup against Augsburg on January 22, giving Haller nearly three weeks to recover in time for the game.
Haller joins Dortmund from Ajax, where he excelled for two seasons in Amsterdam – scoring 47 times in 66 appearances, earning him a big move to the Bundesliga.

However, he was soon hit with the bombshell news that he had a testicular tumor, as he revealed how he and his family struggled to accept the diagnosis.
‘My husband is shocked, but he can deal with it. But.. my mum.. it wasn’t the same, because mothers are mothers,’ said Haller in an interview with ESPN.
‘I called my brothers to make sure they were there for him, so he wouldn’t feel alone. This is what I did.’
Speaking to UEFA last month, he revealed he spent ‘five days at a time in hospital, where I was hooked up 24/7’ and could not get out of bed while the treatment was injected. Then he has two weeks off.

‘That was one episode, and I had to do that four times. Four rounds of chemotherapy lasting about three weeks each,’ he added.
‘After that, depending on how my cancer progresses and how it spreads, I may be forced to undergo surgery.
‘A lot of people have been asking me when I’m coming back, but there’s so much to consider that it’s hard to give them a straight answer.’
