Golden State Warriors player Anthony Lamb has been accused of rape in a lawsuit filed against the University of Vermont.
While Lamb is not named as a defendant in the suit, an alleged rape of ex-girlfriend Kendall Ware — a former member of the Vermont swim and diving team — is said to be mentioned in the suit.
Three women – including Ware – sued the school, its administrators, among others for violations of Title IX, gender discrimination and denial of equal protection.
The alleged sexual assault of Ware by Lamb allegedly occurred on September 7, 2019 at an off-campus party hosted by the University of Vermont Basketball team.
It is claimed that Lamb ‘forcefully anally penetrated Ware as he repeatedly begged him to stop, telling him “no” over and over again. Ignoring her clear requests, he told her to “just take it” and continued raping her,’ read the lawsuit.
Golden State Warriors player Anthony Lamb has reportedly been accused of rape in a lawsuit filed against the University of Vermont – which he attended between 2016 and 2020
Ware was allegedly left ‘broken’ and ‘suffered from suicidal ideation’ before suffering ‘a deep depression’ as a result.
The suit says the couple began dating in January 2019, dating for ‘nearly six months’ before they broke up.
A Warriors spokesperson offered a statement on the accusations to Rolling Stone.
‘Anthony is not a defendant in this recent lawsuit and, to our knowledge, he has never been charged with any wrongdoing in any legal case,’ a Warriors representative said.
Before signing Anthony in September, we did our due diligence on the NBA and his previous teams, as we do with all players. If any new information comes to light, we will certainly look into it and act accordingly.’
Lamb attended the university between 2016 and 2020. He went undrafted coming into college before joining the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and now the Warriors.
