Michael Smith sealed his first World Darts Championship title on Tuesday night with a 7-4 victory over Michael van Gerwen.

Bully Boy stepped in to capitalize on van Gerwen’s mistake and stuck his own perfect leg in just nine throws. The PDC Darts Twitter page hailed it: ‘THE BEST LEG OF ALL TIME!’

Sky Sports commentator Wayne Mardle agreed. He declared: ‘That’s the most amazing darts leg you’ll ever see in your life… I’m speechless. I can not talk.’

Fans on Twitter backed up the claims of the amazing leg feat, at an early stage in a final that went back and forth between the two legendary Michaels.

One fan wrote: ‘Feast upon the ElClassico of arrows’, in reference to the match-ups that Real Madrid and Barcelona usually share on the football stage.

It was the first nine-darter of the entire tournament, and it came in the last game. Luckily for Bully Boy, he got his act together to seal the set, en route to the famous victory.

Smith became only the second player to hit a nine-darter in a World Championship final, after Adrian Lewis in 2011.
