China Open Badminton: Kidambi beat Srikanth’s good start, Denmark’s game

China Open badminton tournament in Changzhou on Wednesday. In the first round of the men’s singles, Srikkanth defeated Danish player Rasmus Game. The Indian pair of Satvik Sairaj Ramchandani and Ashwini Ponnappa also entered the next round.

World number eight Srikanth defeated Rasmus 21-9, 21-19 in straight games in a 30-minute match to enter the second round. Srikanth had won easily in the first game. The second game saw an exciting game between the two.

The Indian had achieved the lead by 4-2, but Rasmus made a good comeback and at one point he scored a score of 19-19 against Srikanth. Here Srikanth secured two points against Rasmus, winning the second game 21-19 and move on to the next round.

Srikanth will face the next round of Thailand’s epic Ahigasanon. Srikanth is the first male player of India who has won the title. He made his name in the China Open tournament in 2014. He is ready to win the title for the second time.

The pair of Satvik and Ashwini beat the pair of Marcus Allis and Lauren Smith in the first round of Mixed Doubles category. The Indian pair reached the next round after beating Marcus and Lauren 21-13, 20-22, 21-17 in an hour and three minutes in a fierce battle. In the second round, Ashwini and Satvik will face Chinese pair of Zheng Siewe and Huang Yakiong.
