Australia defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in the sixth match of the T20 triangular series being played in Harare, with the third win in four matches. Zimbabwe first scored 151/9 in batting, in response Australia achieved the target by losing 5 wickets in the last over.
Andrew Tie was adjudged Man of the Match for his three wickets. Australia faces Pakistan in the final on July 8. Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat first, but the first ball was cefus zhuwao out. Captain Hamilton Masakadza (13) and Trisha Musaqanda (12) also came back to the score of 44 and the pavilion had returned.
From here, Solomon Maire (63) added 68 runs for the fourth wicket with Peter Moore (30), but Australia again came back and restrict Zimbabwe’s innings to 151 runs. Andrew Tie topped the list with three, Billy Stanley and Zhai Richardson 2-2 and Jack Wildermuth, playing the first match, took one wicket.
In response to the target, Australia started poorly, and Aaron Finch (3) and Alex Carri (16) were all out on 29 for the fifth over. Glenn Maxwell (38 balls 56, 5 sixes) added Travis Hadd (48) with 103 runs for the third wicket and added the team to victory.
Although Maxwell was dismissed in the 17th over, Nick Madison (2) was also dismissed in the next over. In the 19th over, Travis Head also went on. However, Marcus Stones (12 *) teamed up with Ashton Agar (5 *) to win the team with a ball remaining.
Blessing Muzrani made three and Wellington Masakadza and Donald Tiripano took one wicket each from Zimbabwe. Brandon Maavuta (51st player) for Jack Zeldarm Muth (92th player) and Zimbabwe for Australia debuted for Australia.
